Pašman

The island is located south of the city of Zadar and southeast from the island of Ugljan – from which it is separated by a narrow channel called Ždrelac, which was dug in 1883. The island has an area of 63 square kilometers. The channel Pašman separates it from the mainland. On the west the island is made out of limestone, while on the east it is made out of dolomite. The highest peak on the island is Bokolj – measuring 274 meters. The west coast is steep with many bays, protected from the north wind. All villages on the island are located on the east side which is less steep. Ocean currents change direction every six hours, which makes the sea one of the cleanest in the entire Adriatic Sea.
